Sunday Sermon - 06/23/2019 - 1 Corinthians 3:5-17

Opening Prayer:

O Holy God, you listen to the appeals and laments of all who submit to you, even the lonely, the confused, and the weak; and you save from death those who trust you. Countless are the dangers from which you have saved us; countless are times you stayed our hands from causing another self-inflicted wound. Thank you for your ever-open ear and your compassionate correction. May you be pleased by the praises your church offers today.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Closing Prayer:

Lord Jesus, sweet is the truth that in our most sorrowful moments you are still with us, ensuring that even our pain is turned to good, such that though we may feel the sting of loss, we need not feel the emptiness of futility. Lord, have mercy on our nearest unbelieving neighbors, for they do not know the divine warmth of your presence amidst their sorrows, and they know well the bitterness of futility. Please grant your church courage to bountifully sow your gospel, that we would join in the great reaping of souls, that we would have compassion on the lost just as our spiritual parents had compassion on us when they shared with us the truth of the Gospel. And so may you be honored in the sharing of life in Jesus Christ.

We pray this in the name of Jesus and for his for his glory. Amen
