Sunday Sermon - 11/17/2019 - 1 Corinthians 11:2-16

Opening Prayer: O Holy God, when we compare ourselves and our deeds to those around us, it is easy to imagine ourselves as undeserving of any serious divine punishment, easy to imagine Christ’s endurance of shame and pain as meant for the atonement of sinners far worse than ourselves. How sweet will be that last day, when such foolish arrogance will be weeded out from our souls, and we will see just how righteous is the God of Israel! Immense was the punishment poured out upon Christ, and so immense must be the offense of our witheld worship. How truly magnificent is your victory over the vileness of sin, that you turn self-focused rebels, such as us, into true sons and daughters of God, all

Sunday Sermon - 11/10/2019 - 1 Corinthians 11:1; Matthew 17:24-27

Opening Prayer: O Holy God, just as you called forth light from darkness as you created in the beginning, so you have called forth life from death in the lives of your people. What was broken, confused, and ever-discontent is now whole, sure, and full of peace because of the life you impart to us though your Holy Spirit. May your people grow in maturity, learning to desire that which is light and life instead of returning to the darkness that marked our lives prior to your awakening touch. And may the holiness and contentment of your people adorn the truth of your gospel, that our nearest neighbors would soon submit to the blessed yoke of Christ. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Clos

Sunday Sermon - 11/03/2019 - 1 Corinthians 10:23-33

Opening Prayer: Our Father, thank you for your tenderness toward us. May your church repent today of secret sins, and breathe in the joy of your forgiveness. And so may you be honored in the humility and joy of your people. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Closing Prayer: Our Father, in your wisdom you bless your people with unmerited daily provision and countless unseen acts of protection; we praise you for filling our lives with goodness and joy. Please grant us deeper humility, that we would praise you when you wisely deny us a choice desire or remove from us a treasured blessing. And so may we honor you in fullness and loss, joy and sorrow, and may you be pleased by the obedience
