Sunday Sermon - 03/03/2019 - 2 Timothy 4:9ff

Opening Prayer:

O Holy God, your laws and commands grant life and peace to all who heed them, they strengthen weary souls and fill wayward hearts with holy desires. Thank you for your words. May your people honor you today by listening to and heeding your words.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Closing Prayer:

O Holy God, so simple is the gospel message that it seems to get cluttered out of our minds; and yet, how much we need to hear it again, and again, and again. O God, you are lovely and glorious, and we are ungrateful and rebellious. You are welcoming and forgiving, we are haughty and proud. All there is for us to do is to again admit our need of mercy, and bend low before the loving Savior. Let your people bend their hearts to you today, that Jesus Christ be glorified in the submissiveness of his people. And so may many weary souls receive the peace and rest that they so desperately need, and may God the Father be pleased in the ever-increasing humility of his children.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
