Sunday Sermon - 1 Corinthians Message 40

04/19/2020

1 Corinthians 15:20-28

Prayer:

John 20:19-21

"When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."

O Holy God, how we need the words of Christ, “Peace be with you!” Though the storm of uncertainty presses us from outside and the drought of weariness gnaws at us from within, we have the assurance that peace is near, for Christ himself invites us to rest: “Peace be with you!” May your church daily display steady peace, quiet courage, and unshakeable contentment, that you may be honored both in times of trial and times of ease.

Amen.
