Sunday Sermon - 1 Corinthians Message 33

01/26/2020

1 Corinthians 13:8-13

Opening Prayer:

O Holy God, you are our light, he who clarifies truth from falsehood, who enables the mind to see reality, who illumines the heart with sight of divine beauty. You are our salvation, he who rescues from the oppression of sin and Satan, who liberates souls from addiction to perversity, who frees from the tyranny of selfishness. All goodness is from you, and we owe you unending praise for your beauty, generosity, and mercy. Please accept our songs and words and hearts today.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Closing Prayer:

O Holy God, the more we seek joy and beauty and goodness in Jesus Christ, the more we find!Unending is the supply of divine pleasure stored up for all who would seek it in the Savior. Let your people joyfully spend all, trade all, endure all, to obtain evermore closeness with Christ, as one who found a pearl of great value and “went and sold all that he had and bought it.” May the Lord Christ shine in our heart’s eye as the supreme treasure in all and above all things, that you would be honored in the desires and hopes of your people.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen
